The selection is usually based on a proper calculation of the heat loss and gain balance. The five factors mentioned above are the most important inputs for this calculation. Other examples of heat loss and gain include: the orientation of the outdoor pool in relation to the cardinal directions, the geographical location of the pool, daily filter operation, the frequency of fresh water replacement or top-ups, the intensity of sunlight, wind, etc.
The information above leads to a detailed calculation and selection process. However, experience shows that in most cases, the pool size can serve as an initial guide, which proves to be accurate in the majority of instances. Heat pumps are therefore designed for a specific pool volume. Choose from product models for pools up to 40m³, up to 60m³, up to 70m³, 80m³ and 120m³. The latest iMAX Inverter models are suitable for pools up to 520m³.
If your pool is larger than 120m³, several heat pumps are usually required. If you have any questions about this or about choosing a heat pump, please do get in touch with us.
